“The thing that makes me the happiest is the feeling that I have touched other lives in meaningful ways.”
~ AGE co-founder Bert Kruger Smith

To further celebrate our 30th Anniversary, AGE of Central Texas is honoring our co-founders – and their personal mission to touch people’s lives – by proudly establishing the Bert Kruger-Smith and Willie Kocurek Legacy Fund.

The Legacy Fund represents a group of passionate individuals who invest in AGE’s mission at an impactful level.

Not only will you be a part of helping AGE’s programs grow to meet Central Texas’ expanding aging population, but your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling your impact thanks to the Anderson Foundation.  The Legacy Fund founders will also be invited to a party at the Governor’s Mansion, along with other opportunities throughout the year.

This founding group of community investors will be creating a foundation to help launch AGE of Central Texas into the next successful 30+ years of serving the Central Texas community.  We know that the population of adults 60 and older in Central Texas will grow by 67% by the Year 2020, so the need for services for older adults and family caregivers will climb rapidly during the next few years.

Today, an estimated 5.4 million Americans have Alzheimer’s disease or similar dementia, and the number of individuals diagnosed each year is growing steadily as the population ages. Today’s treatments only temporarily ease some dementia symptoms, so the need for AGE’s therapeutic adult day care and respite for caregivers is at an all-time high and growing.

The only requirements to join The Legacy Fund are a big heart and a gift impact of $1,000 or more.
